It’s about as direct as you can get.
Clear Channel Media & Entertainment has just announced a revenue deal with group Fleetwood Mac. It’s the first direct performing rights agreement between a radio company and an artist.
Bob Pittman, CEO of Clear Channel, said, “Reaching an agreement with them is the clearest sign yet that this kind of revenue-sharing model represents the industry’s future — it is a win-win-win, for artists, fans, and the music business.”
This landmark partnership follows similar agreements with several independent recording labels, including Big Machine Label Group, Glassnote Entertainment, Fearless Records, and Dualtone Records.
