CEO Dean Graziano said in a statement, “The fact that we have such strong financial backing shows the momentum behind this idea,” which is true considering the fact that the mobile app market in itself is continuing to grow. A study from Canalys found that app downloads have increased more than 11 percent since the beginning of 2013, as well as another study from the Pew Research Center that confirmed over half of American adults own a smartphone.

The Lively app is available on iOS and Android. Audio recordings can be downloaded for $4.99 and both audio and video for $9.99.
