A new record for the sale of a popular music manuscript has been set. The record setting song? Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone”.
The manuscript sold for over $2 million at a Sotheby’s auction in New York.
The seller is a fan living in California who bought the manuscript directly from Dylan.
The previous record for a popular music manuscript was held by John Lennon’s “A Day in the Life”, from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. That document sold for $1.2 million.
Nice to see music still has some kind of value.
