Sharing new music with your friends and family is becoming easier and easier, especially with Pandora’s new integration with Snapchat.
Snapchat recently added an integration with SeatGeek for users to purchase tickets to music, sporting, and fashion show events. Now, to make it easier for its users to share music with their friends and family, Snapchat is adding Pandora to its developer kit.
Snapchat users and music lovers will be able to share music within their stories, group chats, and one-on-one chats. The feature isn’t yet available for users, but it will be rolled out to users in the U.S. soon.
Pandora’s integration will be an easy feature to utilize within Snapchat.
The album art for the tracks will be placed on unique song cards within Snapchat. Additionally, cards will be showcased on an animated background. This feature will be available via Premium Access, though free tier users will still be able to select and share music with their friends and family and receive music. However, they will receive a short video advertisement prior to hearing the song.
Once the song is received, users will be able to swipe up and listen to the song directly on Pandora.
“This will be a powerful and comprehensive social integration with music,” says Chris Phillips, Pandora’s chief product officer. “The Snapchat product experience and user base are primed for sharing, and our collaboration will provide a creative and compelling way to discover and enjoy music in a way that’s intuitive to Snapchatters.”
“We’re always looking for more ways to bring Snapchat into the world and the world into Snapchat,” said Jacob Andreou, Vice President of Product for Snap Inc. “With their vast music library, Pandora’s partnership with Snap Kit will help us make it easier and more fun for Snapchatters to share the music they love.”
