Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ Tops Multiple Charts as Donald Trump Arrives

A coordinated effort to spike Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ on the British charts is working better than expected.

If you’re English, you’re having a really, really f—ing bad week.

After a devastating World Cup loss to Croatia, Brits are now being forced to entertain a visit from Donald Trump.  The U.S. President is wildly unpopular in the U.K., a country that has previously kept Trump out of the country with the threat of mass protests.

That’s officially changing today, with Trump visiting Prime Minister Theresa May in London while also visiting other major cities in the country.

For most Brits, mass protests offer a needed outlet.  Accordingly, hundreds of thousands are migrating to London for a ‘Stop Trump’ rally, while protesters are also plentiful in other cities.  Protesters even crowdfunded a giant ‘Trump Baby’ balloon that will hover outside British Parliament for two hours during Trump’s protest.

Amazingly, an online petition titled “Prevent Donald Trump from making a State Visit to the United Kingdom” was signed by a total of 1.86 million people.  Of course, it didn’t work.

But the wry English humor has another method of dissension: its own music charts.

Accordingly, Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ is now topping multiple charts in the country, including Amazon Music and Google Play.

As Trump touched down, the track was also rising on the Apple iTunes download store.  At last check, the song was moving from 3 to 2, with a top slot possible.

Incidentally, one of the song’s toughest competitors is losing steam.  ‘Three Lions,’ a track that soared alongside the successes of team England, is now losing momentum.  “Three Lions” was released in 1996 by the English band The Lightning Seeds.

“American Idiot” isn’t that old, but it does date back to 2004.  In that recent period, Green Day released the song to protest American foreign policy by the Bush Administration, particularly the Iraqi War.  Now, the broader theme is being transplanted into another presidency, with surprisingly effective results.

At present, here are the chart positions achieved in the U.K.

Tracking the action is @TrumpIdiotNo1, a Twitter account dedicated to skyrocketing the Green Day protest song.  Here’s their latest tally:

  • No.1 on Amazon
  • No.1 on Google Play
  • No.3 & No.24 on iTunes
  • 1000s of streams and counting
  • 1000s of views on YouTube

Separately, the effort is being pushed from other corners of the web.  That includes a Facebook page dedicated to the chart spike.  “When President Trump arrives on UK soil for his visit on Friday 13th July 2018, American Idiot will be the official No.1 single,” the page states.

“Are you in?

Of course, all of this is great news for Green Day.

For starters, the protest is generating lots of revenue for the California punk band.  Always a plus.  But Green Day also hates Trump just as much as the Brits do.  The group has decried the president as a “fascist,” while rallying crowds around chants like this one:

“No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!”

Here’s the video of ‘American Idiot’.

Paul: you can take your political rag of a “newspaper” and pound sand. Have you not learned that a lot of people support Trump and do not want to hear whackjobs from the left melting down?

I have visited DMN for the last time. I will find sources that are not political advocates in disguise.

    Last thing: TRUMP 2020!

There’s a back and forth contest between Trump and the press, which this website is part of–a game of who can outdo the other: Sometimes it’s who can yell the loudest? Sometimes who can insult the most? It’s a game that both sides just love to play.

The Brits have been drawn into the game–they seem to not know very much about America, only what the press tells them.

Meanwhile the business of governance goes on, seemingly pretty well. And we don’t hear what goes on in the private meeting room between Theresa May and Trump.

Not sure why the U.K. decides to spend 10s of millions on police, riot control, business disruption just for a visit. Time to show some backbone and just say no.

Awesome. Gave it a couple of re-listens myself.

I am a registered Democrat who is voting for Trump in 2020. I didn’t vote for him in 2016, although I didn’t vote for Crooked Hillary either.

Partisan assholes on The Left don’t know why they hate Trump other than he’s not a Democrat. Trump is more liberal than Bill Clinton was in the mid 90s. He’s gonna get North Korea to de-nuclearize. Trump said he would sign a bill ending a Federal ban on marijuana. The business climate has been crazy good since his election. I don’t have any complaints, but if I do I’ll let you know. He’s been far better than I could have imagined.

What are the Far Left Democrats who stole my party for? Open borders and unlimited work visas to take away our jobs, endless welfare, allowing the corporate media to end Free Speech, government control of everything, and taking away the 2nd Amendment. They’re harassing any Republican just because they’re Republican. You have this coup attempt by the deep state on both sides of the aisle.

So what should we do? Vote for that cunt Hillary Rotten Clinton because It’s Her Turn? Fuck her and her rapist, piece of shit “husband”, and all the pervs around them. She’s a warmonger and incompetent, except at stealing money.

It should be noted that the goal of this campaign was to make this song number 1 which it failed. Nice try though libtards.
