Melania Trump Calls for a Boycott Against T.I. Following His ‘First Lady Stripper’ Video

  • Save

The First Lady Melania Trump is calling for a boycott of Atlanta-based rapper T.I.

A promotional video for the rapper’s new album featured a woman resembling the first lady stripping in the Oval Office.  That’s not the first direct attack on the First Lady, particularly from a rapper.

Now, Melania — whose pet project is internet bullying — is barking back.  Trump Communications Director Stephanie Grisham, who handles Melania’s media relations, tweeted about the video, asking why it was acceptable.

T.I. tweeted the video on Friday with the note, “Dear 45, I ain’t Kanye.”

The woman in the video is wearing a jacket with the phrase, “I Really Don’t Care, Do U?”  The jacket is a riff on the same jacket that Melania wore during a visit to a migrant children camp in Texas.  Melania admitted to wearing the jacket as a “troll” on reporters.

T.I. has yet to comment on Melania’s calls for a boycott of the rapper, though fans on social media appear to be taking both sides on the issue.  Some T.I. supporters say they are not Trump supporters, but that the video was distasteful.

Others are drawing comparisons to Kathy Griffin’s headless Trump stunt.  Perhaps that’s an extreme comparison, though T.I. is obviously seeking to stir some controversy.

T.I. has been very public about his disdain for Trump, most recently posting on Instagram to chastise Kanye after he had lunch with Trump last week.

T.I. mentioned that Kanye had asked him join him to show support for Trump.  Kanye apparently attempted to get others to join as well, including Colin Kaepernick.  “Now I recall you asking me to come with you to have this meeting and I declined (naturally)…” T.I. blasted.

You ass kissing and boot licking on a whole new level  and I refuse to associate myself with something so vile, weak and  inconsiderate…”
