FUGA Italy has inked a global digital service deal with distribution company Planet Records.
The deal covers Planet Records’ roster of Latin American and European acts, as well as various artists and labels distributed through Planet Distribution. The label has released music from several ultra-popular Latam artists, including Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Prince Royce, Gente de Zona, Nicky Jam, and others.
Planet Records has offices in Miami, Napoli, Havana, Milan, New York, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Apparently, the deal is the first of many for FUGA’s newly opened division, with other partnerships in the offing.
The Italian branch has secured over 40 new clients since it opened in March last year, according to the company.
Planet Records founder Roberto Ferrante says he’s thrilled to be working with FUGA. He praised the company as a natural choice to enable total independence for distribution.

FUGA announced its expansion into Milan and London in March. That expansion was made possible by a $7 million investment from shareholders, an injection that comes alongside serious spikes in streaming volumes and the services required to support that spike.
FUGA’s Milan office is headed up by Lorenzo Grignani, with Massimo Reali as the Digital Label and Promotions Manager. The Milan office opened with several new clients on board, including Undamento, Coez, and Ala Bianca and Hukapan.
According to FUGA, the fresh investment tranche has been used to drive international growth, both organically and through acquisitions. The label-focused distributor has been consistently top-ranked by Spotify, where the company enjoyed ‘preferred’ status as both a ‘Recommended Label Distributor’ and ‘Recommended Delivery Platform’.
FUGA also enjoys accolades as a ‘Preferred Plus’ distributor and encoding house over at Apple Music.
