The Guinness World Records have just awarded pop superstar Mariah Carey her third record relating to her Christmas classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

In the 2020 edition of its book, the organization awarded Carey the record for the Highest-Charting Holiday (Christmas/New Year) Song on the US Hot 100 by a Solo Artist. They also personally presented the singer with both a record title certificate and a copy of the book during an event at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Previously, the organization had awarded Carey and “All I Want for Christmas Is You” world records for the Most Streamed Track on Spotify in 24 Hours (Female) after she received nearly 11 million streams during a one-day period in December of 2018.  She also won an award for the Most Weeks in the UK Singles Top 10 Chart for a Christmas Song after the song charted for 20 weeks.

While the song is 25 years old, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” yearly makes the charts across the world during the holiday season.

Carey not only performed the song, but she also wrote it, for 1995’s Merry Christmas, which was her fourth studio album. Last month, the album was re-released as a special holiday edition.

Michael Empric, who is an adjudicator for Guinness World Records, said of the honor: “We’re excited to welcome Mariah Carey into the Guinness World Records family through her incredible achievements for her hit single, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.’ This song has become a holiday staple.”

Carey not only collected her award personally at The Colosseum, but she is also performing there for three dates at the end of this month. F ns who would like to purchase tickets to one of the shows can do so at www.mariahcarey.com.

Carey will continue her tour on the East Coast, appearing in New York, Boston, Washington, DC and Atlantic City.

Just turn off your radio or switch to another song on your music player when that song starts playing.

hahaa 🙂 yeah like every year, my remote is ready as soon as the end of november comes! I’m switching as a soon as I recognize the very first notes of this saw…(followed by the usual swear words) but even that isn’t enough..

Unfortunately there is no way to avoid it 100%.. as smart tv’s still not allow adblockers.. only that would help to stop it (+ the usual neverending ads stream that I really don’t give a F%kc of)
