The black BMW 750Li that rapper Tupac Shakur was driving on the night he was murdered has been restored and is selling for a whopping $1.75 million.
Celebrity Cars Las Vegas is selling the 1996 car on its website with the following description:
“This is the actual car that Tupac Shakur was shot while riding in after a Fight at the MGM in Las Vegas. It was driven by Suge Knight and originally leased by Death Row Records. This is the first time this car has ever been up for sale or on display since his death in 1996. It has been completely restored to the condition it was in before his death and has just received a new coat of paint.”
The description goes on to add:
“There is a small indentation where we believe one of the bullet holes was but it is hard to tell. Other than that it is fully restored. The photo of the bullet holes is just for reference. The wheels have been replaced with the same wheels that it had at the time of the shooting. It runs great and is in excellent condition.”
In September of 1996, an unknown assailant shot Shakur after he left the MGM Grand, where he had watched Mike Tyson fight Bruce Seldon. He died six days later in intensive care, from respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds.
To this day, his murder remains unsolved.
The local police reportedly impounded the BMW after the incident, and they eventually auctioned it. Since then, it has passed hands several times. In 2017, the owner of the car auctioned it for $1.5 million.
Last November, the Gotta Have Rock and Roll Auctions website auctioned other personal items of Shakur. This included a never-seen Polaroid of the rapper and his entourage holding guns.
