Instagram has been blowing up with clips of ‘Fake Drake’ playing in clubs in Miami. Who is he?
On October 31, Akademiks shared two videos showing ‘Fake Drake’ playing Drake songs at a club in Miami. The first clip shows “Trophies” playing, while “Way 2 Sexy” is playing in the next clip. So who is Fake Drake? He took to the mic to let people know.
“Is it really Drizzy? Nah, you dizzy,” he told a crowd at the Miami club. “I’m from Toronto. I came here six days ago and I blew up. Tory Lanez posted me in his story. So we just ridin’ this shit, it’s all part of God’s plan,” the man says. The 22-year-old man’s real name is Izzy.
He says he’s touring as the ‘Fake Drake’ now, because of how popular he got from those clips on Instagram. “I’m touring, I’ve got some music events I gotta show up to,” Fake Drake told No Jumper.
“People DM me like, ‘Hey, you wanna come to my event because I can’t pay Drake – he’s too expensive. I’ll pay you $5,000 just to show up.’ They pay my Airbnb, they pay the flight, they hook it all up.”
The doppelganger says he has the real Drake’s approval, though his source is rather dubious. According to him, a professional gambler in Vegas who knows Drake asked him what he thinks about the doppelganger running around and touring as Fake Drake.
“He got in contact with Drake, and Drake was just like, ‘It doesn’t bother me, it doesn’t affect me. Let the guy get his bag. It’s not affecting me. If you think it’s gonna go wrong if you’re posting him and everything, just keep the peace.'”
Izzy adds, “I’m just being humble; I’m doing my thing. I got kids – I’m doing this sh*t for my family.”
