The American Association of Independent Music, also known as A2IM, has opened voting for three slots on its Board of Directors.
Voting officially opened this week, with a voting deadline of June 12th.
The trade association, established in 2005, represents independent record labels throughout the U.S. A2IM aims to “help Independent music labels improve business by promoting access and parity through advocacy, education, and connection-building with one another and affiliated businesses.”
Indeed, that’s a mission that the organization has been pursuing for more than a decade, with sorely-needed representation happening on Capitol Hill and the broader industry ecosystem. That’s becoming more and more important as indie stature rises, especially in the streaming landscape.
A21M voting members nominated a list of member executives to run for election. Basically, if you’re on this list, you’ve got good indie executive cred.
The voting members will vote to fill three (3) seats from the list of candidates shown above.
+ Collectively, Indie Labels are Now Bigger Than Any Major Label
