According to ICANN registration records, Universal Music Group still owns the grooveshark.com domain, suggesting either a domain name sub-lease or outright sale is happening. Just recently, UMG seized the grooveshark.com URL after winning a multi-year court battle that also involved Warner Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.
Grooveshark was officially buried on April 30th, 2015, with a notice of closure and apology note immediately posted on grooveshark.com. Grooveshark and its parent company, Escape Media Group, subsequently dissolved.
