The latest executive shuffles across the music industry…

Universal Music Group (UMG) has hired Robert Ziegler as Executive Vice President of Global Physical Operations. Ziegler comes from Sony DADC where he served as President Global Platform Services for just under 3 years. In his new role, Ziegler will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing and distribution of all physical goods across UMG’s goal operations. Ziegler will report to Michael Frey, President of Global Operations and Advanced Media Services and will be based in the company’s Santa Monica headquarters.

Pandora has hired Adam Parness as Head of Publisher Licensing and Relations. Parness will be responsible for managing company relationship’s with music publishers and songwriters and developing wider product rights.

Sony Music UK has hired Michael Smith as Executive Vice President. Smith will help oversee all Sony Music UK Legal and Business Affairs.

As part of a larger executive shuffle, Sony Music UK has several promotions…

Sony Music UK has promoted David Turnball to Senior Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs. Turnball will be involved in overseeing all Sony Music UK Legal and Business Affairs along with Michael Smith. Andy Young has also been elevated to Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs for RCA and Syco Music.

Also, Nick Kadrnka has been promoted to Director of Legal and Business Affairs, CMG. Sacha Kilbey has been promoted to Director of Legal and Business Affairs, Columbia, and Philippa Tandy has been promoted to Director of Legal and Business Affairs, Sony Labels.

Creatv Media, a just-launched media consulting firm, has tapped a few executives for its debut.  The roster includes Steve Rahman, Ted Cohen, Steve Lehman, and several others.  The firm is being headed by Peter Csathy, formerly CEO of Manatt Digital Media.
