Dedrick Devonshay Williams, 22, charged with first-degree murder.

Dedrick Williams is the suspect in the shooting death of XXXTentacion. However, he denied committing the crime during his first court appearance.

Williams is 22 and claims that he was nowhere near the area where the rapper was shot while he was in his vehicle.  An attorney for Williams spoke for him in court on Monday when he appeared before a judge.  The attorney spoke about Williams maintaining his innocence, while noting that he has changed his story since speaking with him shortly after he was arrested.

Mauricio Padilla is the attorney that the Williams family hired to represent Dedrick Williams throughout the trial.  The family hopes that the truth will come out and that the rapper’s shooter will come forward or that he will be located by police so that Williams can be set free.

Updated: Wed., June 27th 12:45 pm PT: Broward County police have just shared that they have another person of interest.  Robert Allen, 22, is now wanted and suspected of pulling the trigger on XXXTentacion.  We’ll keep updating as more information becomes available.

Media sources have been talking about the shooting of XXX ever since it happened.  At first, reports suggested that the rapper was alive but that his condition was critical.  Later in the day, sources revealed that the rapper did die after someone approached his vehicle and shot him before taking an expensive bag from his vehicle.

Officers have suggested that Williams was inside a vehicle at the time XXX was trying to leave, blocking the road so that the rapper couldn’t escape.  There is another person who was with Williams at the time of the shooting, but he has not been arrested.

If there is proof that the other person shot XXX instead of Williams, then it could change the charges that Williams faces. Until that time, there is little that can be done except for Williams to maintain his innocence and declare that he did not pull the trigger.
