Korn will perform live in AdventureQuest 3D and AdventureQuest Worlds this weekend.

The band has been fully digitized and will appear in the game’s art motif. Fans who want to hear the concert can download either game on iOS, Android, and Steam.  Players will need to create their own virtual character to attend the concert.

Each character receives a magical concert ticket in their inventory.  The ticket teleports them to a concert island for the live event, all part of a growing trend of in-game virtual concerts.

Indeed, game developers have been experimenting with real artists and digital set pieces for years now.

Second Life held the first live concert performance in 2007.  Just last year, Marshmello held a live set in Fortnite, winning himself a Las Vegas residency soon thereafter.  The partnership between AdventureQuest and Korn is the first specifically aimed at promoting a game, though.

The announcement says that the band will play on stage while players fight monsters, score loot, and hear new songs from the band’s upcoming album, The Nothing.

The event is free-to-play, but there is an event pack that can be purchased featuring Korn-branded items. One item is a virtual backstage pass where your character can take a selfie with the band.  The Nothing will be released on September 13th through Roadrunner/Electra.

The album is the band’s follow up to The Serenity of Suffering, which was released in 2016. Here’s the full tracklist from the upcoming album and a peek at the album art.  The Nothing features lead tracks “You’ll Never Find Me” and “Cold,” with song titles reminiscent of death metal albums.
