The official Mariah Carey Twitter account was hacked late New Year’s Eve. The pop diva’s account sent several racist tweets and commented on Nick Cannon’s beef with Eminem.
The hacker focused on the Cannon vs. Eminem beef since Nick Cannon is Carey’s ex-husband. That rap feud was ignited after Eminem dissed both Carey and Cannon in his latest release.
“Eminem can still hold this p——y,” one tweet reads. The last tweet appeared at 3:35 pm and showed a shirtless teenager with a caption reading, “Xbox n——.” The account remained compromised for around two hours.
Some of the tweets also included a reference to the hacking group Chuckling Squad. That group is also responsible for hacking Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey back in August. Chuckling Squad also claimed credit for the recent hack of actress Chloë Grace Moretz, too.

Those hacked tweets also included the use of the n-word and comments designed to inflame.
The official Mariah Carey Twitter account has since deleted the tweets sent while the account was compromised. A Twitter spokesperson said the company moved into action as soon as they were made aware of the issue. They are currently investigating how the hack occurred.
Mariah Carey had the good graces to make light of the situation once control of the account was regained. “I take a freaking nap and this happens?” she opined in a tweet. But the singer quickly went back to celebrating her recent Billboard achievement.
She’s the first artist to hold a Billboard No. 1 spot in four different decades. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hit the Billboard top spot in December for the first time in 25 years. The song will manage to hold the top spot until at least January 4.
As it turns out, all Mariah wanted for New Year’s Eve was her Twitter account back.
