Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator

The White House has nominated former Paramount anti-piracy exec (and former RIAA regional counsel) Deborah Robinson as intellectual property enforcement coordinator. In a statement, RIAA head Mitch Glazier thanked “President Biden for selecting such an outstanding nominee to advance smart, pro-growth IP policies and enforcement practices around the world.”

Belmont University

Belmont has named CeCe Winans as an “artist in residence” for the fall of 2023, and besides “engaging with members of the Belmont community at campus events” as part of the arrangement, the gospel mainstay is scheduled to perform at the university’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on September 15th.

10-year Unilever higher-up Suzi Ibbotson has signed on as PPL’s director of communications.

More than 36-year Rosenfeld, Meyer & Susman vet Todd Bonder has joined Reitler as a partner.

Universal Music’s UMe catalog company has elevated seven-year team member (and former New West Records media exec) Tim Plumley to VP of media and artist relations.

Val Blavatnik, the son of Access Industries owner Len Blavatnik, has been elected to Warner Music’s board of directors (and appointed to the major label’s executive committee), replacing Len’s brother Alex Blavatnik.

Former AWAL general manager Paul Trueman has become unhurd’s first COO, and SoundCloud VP of music intelligence Hazel Savage (who participated in unhurd’s March seed round) has joined the AI music-promotion startup’s board.

BMG

BMG has upped longtime Rise Records exec Sean Heydorn to SVP of the Portland-based label as well as frontline catalog.

VuHaus Group has hired Engage Youth operations director Michelle Conrad as marketing director, brought on Sixthman venue manager Zac Altheimer as sponsorship and partnership coordinator, and transitioned founding team member Michele Tharp to partnership marketing consultant.

VDC has hired veteran sales professional Jason Shaw as UK sales manager “to help drive the company’s growth post Covid.”

Former Universal Music Latino public relations exec Carlos Pérez has joined Warner Music Latina as its Miami-based SVP of communications and PR.
