Just hours ahead of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, a supposed leak to the media reveals that NSYNC will be reuniting and presenting at this year’s ceremony, having last reunited at the 2013 VMAs.

It’s a big night for music at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with a veritable celebrity who’s who. In preparation for the release of the new animated Trolls film in which NSYNC has been rumored to be reuniting (Justin Timberlake has long voiced the series’ main character, Branch), a so-called “leak” to the media reveals that members Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick will be reuniting much sooner than expected — tonight at the 2023 VMAs.

The group last reunited at the 2013 VMAs, but rumors and sightings of three of the five members in New York City ahead of tonight’s VMAs ceremony have surfaced. ET reports that NSYNC will be presenting tonight as well, along with French Montana, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Ashanti, Billy Porter, Fat Joe, Nelly Furtado, Saweetie, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean, and a slew of other celebs.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion will also be reuniting for a debut performance of their newly released single, “Bongos.” Nicki Minaj returns to the VMAs stage as the night’s emcee and for a performance of her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You.” The Bacardi-sponsored finale will feature iconic hip-hop tracks performed by DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, LL Cool J, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj.

Other performances include Olivia Rodrigo, Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin, and Stray Kids. Sean “Diddy” Combs will be honored with the Global Icon Award, while Shakira will be presented with the Video Vanguard Award, and both will also perform during the awards show for the first time in nearly 20 years.

This year’s VMAs will see a record-setting 35 first-time nominees, with artists including GloRilla, Ice Spice, Metro Boomin, Pink Pantheress, and many others up for consideration — the 2023 VMAs air on MTV on Tuesday, September 12, at 8 PM ET.
