XXXTentacion’s friend —rapper C Glizzy — has survived an attempted murder almost a year to the day after XXXTentacion was killed.
C Glizzy — real name Christian Moore — was shot in the head outside a convenience store in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The attack happened Saturday night, and the aspiring rapper was rushed to the hospital by his mother and brother. Unfortunately, the group suffered an accident on the way to the hospital, crashing into a highway exit ramp.
The rapper eventually made it to Broward Health North Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
WPLG Local 10 reporter Madeleine Wright reports the operation was a success and C Glizzy is expected to survive. Wright tweeted about his condition and confirmed he was in stable condition.
“Doctors removed a bullet from the head of 16-year-old rapper CGlizzy during surgery at Broward Health North, according to his mother. [His] mom tells me he is heavily sedated and not talking right now, but she is expecting and hoping that he’ll survive the gunshot wound he sustained to the head.”
Fans quickly took to social media to express their get well wishes for the rapper. Some even questioned the violence that appears to be endemic to Florida; many fans pointed out C Glizzy was shot only two days before the anniversary of XXXTentacion’s death.
C Glizzy has thousands of followers on social media, despite only being a teen. He released his first album, Numb the Pain, on April 19th. His first post on Instagram is a throwback video with himself and XXXTentacion, posted one day after the rapper’s death.
XXXTentacion — real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy — was only 20 years old when he was shot and killed at a motorcycle dealership in Florida.
Attackers stole $50,000 while fleeing the scene. Four men were later arrested and charged in connection with the armed robbery and slaying.
All four men have pled not guilty to the charges and are awaiting trial.
