The Rolling Loud festival in Miami has revealed its 2022 lineup with headliners Ye, Future, and Kendrick Lamar. DaBaby is also back but not a headliner.

DaBaby faced a huge backlash last year after making homophobic comments at Rolling Loud 2021. The rapper is back on the lineup this year, performing on the second day in a three-day festival. DaBaby was removed from Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Parklife Festival, Day N Vegas, Austin City Limits, Music Midtown, and the iHeartRadio Music Festival last year due to his homophobic comments.

During his Rolling Loud set in 2021, DaBaby said: “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cell phone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d–k in the parking lot, put your cell phone lighter up!”

The comments were met with a mixture of boos and shouts.

On July 26th, the rapper took to Instagram to clarify some of his comments. He said his fans would never contract HIV/AIDS because they’re not “nasty gay n—-s or junkies. I wasn’t going on a rant,” the rapper stated. “That’s called a call to action. That’s what that’s called, ’cause I’m a live performer. I’m the best live performer.”

That Instagram post didn’t go over well and on July 27th, DaBaby was forced to apologize again. “Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies.”

Following the backlash, the rapper made an apology online and agreed to meet with several HIV/AIDS advocacy groups. Several of those groups say DaBaby left them hanging after he deleted his online apology. Representatives for the Rolling Loud Miami festival have not commented on the lineup.
